The Beginning

If you have followed me for a while you might have noticed I have taken a break from a few of my social media accounts like Facebook and this blog.  I needed to take some time to start to really work out how I felt I could best utilize each different site so they all remain fresh and fun and interesting.  I am finally starting to get it worked out in my mind and thought the start of the new year was the perfect time to get back into the routine of posting here.
I have done a lot of experimenting on this blog testing out different types of content and different ways of presenting it ultimately trying to decide how best to utilize it to connect with other people all over the world while staying true to myself and my interests.  I find many bloggers to be very repetitive across their different forms of social media which I personally find to be very boring and wasteful and probably keeps their channels from exploding in ways they don’t realize should be happening for them, and that is something I would desperately like to avoid.  I want my internet friends to find something new and interesting everywhere they turn when it comes to my social media.  I want subscribing to my content in each location to benefit you in different ways, but to still reflect our mutual interests in each location and my goal of sharing multiple passions and interests of mine with others.  I want the content to jive in ideas without being repetitive and I’d like to be able to direct you to the different social media sites when it makes sense to do so without sending you there to find out it is an exact repeat of what you just saw.  I want it to be interactive because that is what makes blogging fun for everyone and I like the idea that if you are going from one form of social media to another when appropriate it should feel exciting or interesting almost like a treasure hunt would be.
I believe that the biggest reason why social media is so popular is that we (meaning those of us who use social media regularly) are all searching for safe forms of social interaction and ways to share and connect with people who want the same.  We want to learn new things and try new things and compare opinions on new things and then share those new things with other people who also want to learn and try new things and share opinions.  We want to connect with people we would never encounter otherwise and really we just want to have fun and relax and escape from our stressful lives for a while.
I’ve decided I really want this blog to be a place where we DO things together and I mean literally do the same things at basically the same time so that we can share and interact in real time.  I want us to sometimes do new things and sometimes old things and sometimes different things and sometimes harder to find things and maybe sometimes even repeat some things we have done before so we can see if we still feel the same way while giving new friends a chance to catch up.
So, what does all this mean?  Well, my intentions are this… we will begin with something that we can do together and as we finish one activity we will begin another… together… and I will give advanced notice on what is starting when so you have time to acquire the item if you need to.  For example, if we are going to be reading a book together I will tell you what book it will be and when we will start it ahead of time, and I will even try to share where you can get your hands on it if you need to.  Then as we move through each activity together we can share and connect over it.  My hope is that as we progress from one activity to the next we will begin to build connections by trying new things and even though they will be very different each time there will always be some thread that weaves them all together.  A book might lead us to a movie which might lead us to a soundtrack or a product or a recipe and so on and ultimately we just keep doing together and trying together and sharing together.

So, if you are looking for people to DO things with from the comfort of your own home or your car or the break room at work or your bathtub or wherever and you don’t really care what it is that you do because you enjoy new and different experiences then you’ve come to the right place.  If you want to share the experiences and connect with other people then stay tuned.  You are in the right place and I will be announcing our first activity very soon.  Be sure to subscribe or at least bookmark the blog so you don’t miss a thing.  The connection train will be leaving the station shortly and you don’t want to show up to the party late.
